I think they are like $2k new. No its not going to be drag only, but the focus is 10sec street car.

FCmaniac 04-09-2004 09:14 AM

I thought you could use that money elsewhere and get k2rd or ground controls with any Eibach ERS springs you want. I read that some of those high end coilovers aren't meant for street use because they need rebuilt quicker. I don't know, that was the opinion of some guys on the other forum for whatever its worth. I wouldn't mind some Teins or JIC's though. I think they're in the $1100-1500 range.

TheCamel 04-09-2004 10:20 AM

$2395 for the FC3S drag coilovers, Listed on the HKS USA website now...

I got mine for pretty cheap though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

rotary speedster 04-09-2004 11:47 AM

Looking good. Did you install the bushings yourself?

Yes. I don't plan on paying full price for the coilsovers, if I do buy new ones I would consider the TEINs.. I've heard Junk In Car are bad....

Cheers! 04-10-2004 10:10 PM

dude, more details, where did u get the bumpstop? where did u install it at?

Energy Suspension bumpstop. I got it from a forum member as they come in packs. Got a good deal too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png. Summit sells them. There are several sizes, if I was going to pay the full price I would have gotten a longer one( 3 1/8") would be my choice, vs the 2 1/2" on I have installed. I just used larger washers to make up for the difference. I can take some pixs later on to show the exact location that I drilled from above.

Cheers! 04-10-2004 10:24 PM

Yes more pics!

the hks's are at least rebuildable even if its wierd metric stuff.

Travis R 04-12-2004 08:20 AM

Please tell me that the back of your car is not balancing onto of blocks of wood sitting on the rim. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

How much weight reduction are you doing?

My HKS drag suspension has been on my car for over 3 years now...no rebuilding required yet...*goes and finds wood to knock on*

TheCamel 04-12-2004 10:21 AM

The bumpstop has been used in the drag racing arena for years, I mentioned this to elliot to keep the pinnion from breaking the diff mount on a hard launch. a little extra protection if you will.

haha no. I could not find the nuts for the subframe at the time and I used the wood/tires to hold it in place to check for fitment on the bumpstop.

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif and for $5 you can't go wrong!

Baldy 04-12-2004 10:39 AM

what does the sublink do? I noticed you have the sublink connection beefed up...?

RX7Aggie 04-12-2004 10:42 AM

use carb cleaner on all your parts? they look nice and shiney.

mmmm, aluminum...

i've got all the bushings for my rear, if i can only find time and another daily driver to do it!

Yea I reinforced the camber link. I'm also going to get an adjustable one and tighten it up as far as possible. The spot where it connects to the subframe will break with a lot of hp...

I sanded and painted most everything that came off...

1Revvin7 04-16-2004 02:25 PM

Here is where I drilled the hole.

1Revvin7 04-16-2004 02:26 PM

A close up.

1Revvin7 04-16-2004 02:26 PM

Rb dtss eliminator bushings in. I'm not sure how far I press in the 2nd delrin bushings. I guess only time will tell. I didn't know if these were suppose to be greased out not, but to play it safe I greased them.

1Revvin7 04-16-2004 02:28 PM

A little trick Camel showed me. Turn the rear diff mounts upside down, it becomes a solid.

1Revvin7 04-16-2004 02:29 PM

And I just got rid of those other subframe rubber mounts, just put a washer on instead.

1Revvin7 04-16-2004 08:12 PM

Its finally almost done. Just missing 2 bolts, and a passenger side caliper mount/holder.
