I am just wondering whats the best way to build my n/a for Targa newfoundland, its a tarmac road rally. The interior of the car is gone because It will need a roll cage and racing seats, I am just wondering what I can do to the motor to get a bit more power. it has to hold me over till i can get enuff cash flow for a T2 swap. what size injectors should i go with? fuel pump? I have an apex-i safc, and a racing beat header. I also don't need to worrie about sound or emissions. and what parts can i get that will help with a T2 swap?

thanks for the help!

until you go full t2, all you can really do is drop as much weight as you can, intake and full exhaust is basically all you can do besides porting and a nos. dunno restrictions, but you could start saving for a standalone because the t2 add-ons (drivetrain, ect..) will only add weight..

so there is no programable ignition that will work with both T2 and n/a?

sure there is.

you could for instance go with a haltech e6k and it will control your fuel and ignition, in either NA or turbo form. You will simply need to change the MAP sensor when you go from NA to turbo.

really? thats just what I am looking for.. where can I find one?

pengaru 10-23-2003 05:22 PM

oh and it will obviously need tuning when you switch from NA to turbo too (or do any other changes that affect the VE)

uhmmmmmmmm there are lots of ways to buy a haltech e6k, if you're trying to keep it cheap you can find one used for around $1k with everything usually, sometimes less.

If you get a stand alone EMS, a big advantage is to run different manifolds with Carb style TB's. This is really helpful for a N/A, and everything could be switched over to the TII with no problem, the only exception being the intake manifold. But they are fairly cheap

what else will i need to go stand alone?

BigTurbo74 10-24-2003 04:42 PM

solder supplies and some shrink wrap, as well as wire wrap..hehe
