That would fuggin explain it too,lol..my Hayes has nothing...i'm goin over to get the FSM out now...

Rotaryman88 05-02-2003 06:46 PM

Well..I can't find anything in the FSM on the BTN fuse....but I did come across something else that I thought it was originally...the interlock switch..but like I said in the prior thread that I have not disconnected anything under the dash and the starter worked fine with the jspec...this frustrating as i know it is something VERY easy....

Ok...well, I found some information on a miata site sayin to erase engine check codes, you pull the BTN fuse for 20seconds which would mean that the BTN fuse, does in fact control the ECU on miatas...and seeing as that's the case, it's safe to say that the BTN fuse would control my ECU...also, I ran outside real quick and my '03 protege also has the BTN fuse, and a separate fuse for the taillights...so all is coming together now..when I get off work, I'm going to pull my BTN fuse on the protege and see what happens when I try to start it...thanks JD...

I've cleared codes on my FC my pulling the BTN fuse. Much easier than dragging out the wrench to undo a battery cable.

Rob x-7 05-03-2003 03:28 PM

why dont you just put the BTN fuse back in?

Rotaryman88 05-03-2003 03:43 PM

I didn't have a BTN fuse at the time, I had to get one of the parts car..but since I'm working on my car at my home and the parts car was 20mi away,lol..it was hard to get to..I have it now, but have been so busy lately...I'll look into it either tomorrow or tuesday...

Rob x-7 05-03-2003 03:49 PM

Im fucked like that, I would have driven the 20 miles, even in the snow, put the fuse in the car and checked it out at 3:00 in the morning if need be, lol.

Rotaryman88 05-03-2003 05:06 PM

Lol...yea, but ya see we work on about 2 - 3 big projects a week and then i have class(college) and then my other job(internet bitch),lol..I was tired as ****..and I figure..it's been a few months, I can wait another few days...

Not to mention, I've got the GF to contend with,lol...
