I had to do an emergency brake pad change on the side of the road, and the last time the tires were changed the lug nuts were over torqued. I broke one of the 4 studs off . How much should I expect to pay to have a new one put on? And is it safe to drive on for the time being?

Also, can anyone explain to me why mazda needed to make the rears need a brake piston wrench? It seems like they do stuff like that to keep their service people in business.

Thanks

the stud should be about $20 installed, i think you can just tap it out and put the new one in.

4 is safe, as long as you're not running on slicks ro something
