What does it feel like when the power brakes stop working?

Ever since the blizzard here my brake pedal has been engaging like an inch higher than before, and it seems like the pedal is much stiffer. The car still stops quickly, and its not like I have to stand on the pedal to stop either. Maybe the coldness worked an air bubble out of there or something.

have you tried adding break fluid?

Fluid looked ok.

its at the correct level? is it clear?
