well, 7 hours later and i have a new master cylinder, new stainless steel clutch and brake lines from racing beat, and bonez performance pads. they felt great until my front left tire went out...hopefully i didn't do something wrong on the brake system. at first i just thought i screwed something up and that's why it was pulling to the left, but after going over bumps in the road and thinking my car was falling apart, i realized i might have a flat.

hopefully those rusty shims and missing rear pad springs weren't important. autozone didn't have any hardware kits in stock, so i just went without the shims and missing one of the rear springs. i noticed uneven wear on the previous rear left pads due the missing spring, but i guess it will work until the next time i change my brakes.

bleeding 4 calipers and a clutch = automotive hell

The shims and springs are just there to stop squealing, they're not vital to the brake system.

It really took you 7 hours? Seems like a 2-3 hour job to me.

rule of pi my friend. for any job relating engineering or projects in any way, the rule of pi is in effect.

the rule of pi: take how long you think a project will take, multiply it by Pi (3.141629), and that's how long it will actually take.

this time also included running to autozone to get flare wrenches and eating dinner.

been there done that....kev and i went into it thinkin itd take about 4-5 hours....wound up taking 2 days...that included 2 trips to sears, one trip to a junkyard, a trip to see 2fast2furious, and a few trips for food and to hang out

yeah, luckily i'm not blind, considering the amount of brake fluid that sprayed in my face from bleeding four brakes.

although my hands did prune up for like 24 hours, i'm guessing due to the brake fluid. no evidence on that, just a theory.
