What is this wire? I Ground it to the alt bracket but the wire itself is in very bad shape. The car will stall/cut off when I jiggle this wire. What can I ground to eliminate the need for this wire? Is there another point I can ground to give this wire a better connection? Thanks! Please help my car is at work I get off at 7am EST

The braided wire is a shield to keep interference from the electrical system away from CAS signal to the ECU. YOU NEED THIS SHIELD. If the shield is hurting, try wrapping aluminum foil around it making sure that the foil touches the braided wire somewhere or ground the foil.

When I did my mircotech, I had about a 4 inch section of the CAS wire exposed and it made the ECU throw RPM errors all the time, did the AL foil and no errors ever since.

I grounded this to my Alternator bracket. My car wasnt running until I did that. I also added the additional grounds per the FAQ. Now its all stable again. Im next having to track down 'lexicon?' computer grounding (my seat belt/alerts) sometimes freak out.
