i just installed a Greddy Type S. i had a blitz SS but got rid of it was leaking. so anyways, the thing im wondering is does everyone elses bov sound really quiet? the place where mine is is where the stock bypass valve was and you cant hear anything. a friend of mine has a VR6 with a stage 2, and another friend who told me the same thing has an mr2 turbo. they told me the placement of the bov is the problem. since the air has to pass through the intercooler that it lessens the amount of backpressure going through the bov. so is this really the problem? or anything else it could be? *there bov's are placed right after the throttle body*



so do i need to get a FMIC to be able to get it mounted at the throttle body? or is their room that if i got some piping welded that i could get it mounted back there, or am i just totally wrong about this whole problem. thanks!

The Type-S is pretty quiet no matter what you do to it, from what I've heard.



Here's what I'm wondering. You BOV isn't making any noise so you want to move it, but rather than worry about ricer crap like that, have you checked to make sure it's actually working? A BOV that's not opening wouldn't make any noise, did you consider that? Just to make sure.

OK, what are you trying to protect with your BOV? The turbo right? So why not put it between the air and the turbo? Right were it is. I duno maybe I'm full of ****.

i know what im saying might be stupid. its just if ima pay money for a bov i'd like to get a nice sound out of it. well i figured out the problem, even though no one offered advice, just what they thought about bov's. the vaccum line going to my bov that is supposed to go straight to the manifold is T'd off because the boost gauge is hooked up there. well when i took off the T and just ran it straight to the manifold(leaving my greddy boost gauge unhooked) it sounded like it should. now i dunno where i can hook the boost gauge up to it, or why that would cause problems. im going to check the line to the boost gauge for leaks to see if maybe thats the problem. any suggestions on other vac lines to hook it up to? theres the one taht goes to the pressure sensor near the intake from the manifold, think that'd be alrite to use? thanks for the help

Yup, thats a good one to use. But make sure you have no leaks.

I dont think the greddy bovs are designed for noise like others. Just be happy you have a quality pieceunlike that Blitz junk.

since there's 2 nipples on the bov, which one did you use? and whats the other one for?

I had the type s on my old T2 and it was loud as hell.



One nipple is used to pull vac. to open the bov, the other one is so you can have a complete vac. system. I dont know anyone whoe ever uses both.

I'd much rather have a bov that performs better than one that sounds better.
