well i just purchased my rx7, after almost a year without one! but finally i have one. well along with the car he gave me a new Blitz SS bov. which seems really nice. but he said he had problems with it. even though its new? anyways, he says he revs it or drives but it won't open because im guessing not enough boost? is there a way to adjust the bov so that it will open when i shift? its not releasing the pressure, i know i sound stupid, but its the first turbo car i've owned, and im wondering if thers a problem with the bov or if the bov is fine.

Are you sure you have the vac line hooked up after the TB (like where the boost sensor is hooked up to) and are you sure that the vac line is large enough.

I am not sure how you adjust the SS, but I always thought that unless you mess with it to begin with, it should open enough for stock.

You don't need boost for a BOV to sound off. It will sound off at 0. Also Blitz BOV are notorious for having seized pistons, even new ones. Take it out, and see if you can press the piston in. If you can't, oil it up with wd40 or whatever, put it in a vice wih a socket up against the piston, and vice it up while adding oil.

To adjust it, there's an allen screw right on top. loosen the nut that holds it in place, loosen the allen screw for less spring tension, tighten for more.

Throw that piece of junk away.

The piston seizes in the bore, and even if you lubricate it, it's only a temporary fix.

It's just bad manufacturing tolerances or poor selection of materials.

so the bov is acting weird..instead of letting off one big WHOOOOSH when i shift..it more of less lets off a weird PSHSSHHSSHHSSHSHHS noise..like the piston is bouncing when trying to relieve pressure..is the bov supposed to sound like this? my friends bov(not the same as my blitz ss) does the same...but he is saying his does that because of a vaccum leak..is this my case as well? i checked everything really well.

No its not supppsed to sound like that. Its a defective BOV, try that fix like they said above, if it doesnt work, take it back.

I have the greddy type s on my car right now.It sounds pretty good. The only problem I had with it was when I had my friend tighten the screw on top to hard as I went inside to grab my wallet, he striped the damn bolt on top.I made him give me $130 bucks & added a little cash to order the new greddy type rs bov. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
