I have the stock BOV and i just intalled a mbc with a boost gauge. When i shift my boost spikes for a second when i left off the gas which implies compressor surge. I still have the stock BOV hooked up and stuff, shouldn't this not be happening?

I wouldnt give that thing the justice of calling it a bov. Its really small! If your on a budget right now, or really need to drive the car, DSM's have a nice large one that you can use. Usually the only thing left behind in the engine bays when the cars get junked. Its on the passenger side, near the strut tower.

Did this just start happening right after the mbc and boost guage install?

Bah, i think i'm just gonna go buy a TurboXS RFL.
|
is it still hooked up or did you use that line for your boost gauge? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif
I don't think the boost spikes have anything to do with the BOV. no mater which one you have it's still not going to open till after the boost spike and the car goes into Vac. what kind of boost controller is it and how long are the lines? |
It's that racing beat one that i showed you the pictures of a while back that works from inside the car. The lines are pretty long too. It doesnt take any line from the stock BOV either. It taps from the vacuum line after the compressor, to the wastegate thingy.

ya I don't like those incar setups. if you mounted the contoller under the hood and ran a 1' line the spikes would probably be gone.
