As the new owner of a 1987 N/A I have been working through what seem to be the normal quirks of the FC RX7.

My car is currently suffering from the 3800 RPM hesitation, and it also has a very strange idle. On startup, the it revs up to 3000 for the warm up, and then falls to about 2500. After it warms up a little, then the idle drops and bounces around at 1500 RPM. I read in the other threads that grounding is usually the cause of the 3800 RPM hesitation, but it appears that there is already a grounding kit in place. I've also read that the TPS can be the culprit of the weird idle. However, the tutorial link in the FAQs has a lot of broken images, so I'm not sure where I'm supposed to be placing my multimeter, or my lights to do the testing. If anyone has a photo, or could tell me how to make the lights and where to put them, that would be awesome! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...ault/happy.gif

I've taken some pictures of the grounds that are existing, so if someone notices that they are in the wrong place, I can fix that.

I know on the 91 which is what I have you need to check the voltage of the green/Red stripe wire on the TPS narrow range sensor and it should read .075 to 1.25 volt when the car is fully warmed up. Most people recommend setting it to 1.00 volt exactly. The FSM recommends checking the wire voltage at the ecu which can be a pain.
