i need a new exhaust and the borla doesnt really cost that much.... its the full cat back dual exhaust for the second gen. has anyone heard one of these or used it? i was wondering what it sounded like and how it performed. i figured borla might result in a lower tone than your typical ricey exhaust with 5 inch tip
|
just get side exhaust like me  https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif
|
lol what? no way... dont you burn holes in your pants? rotaries run ******* hot
|
i have an XR1 race muffler and it doesn't muffle much, it's still loud as ****. but borla makes some quality stuff. I believe that system is straight through.
|
I have Borla, toooooo loud, go with the Racing Beat.

ugh... that sucks... besides that and the borla everythnig tops $500 for the catback... plus ive got to pay 340 for the new cat + dp oh well
|
the n1 single isn't super loud (if you keep the cat) and its under $450....
mike |
I've wanted a borla catback, but when I went to their site (can't remember it now) it didn't show anything related to RX-7s. Didn't they stop doing parts for RX-7s a while ago?
Where did ya find the information on the Borla catback you're looking at? |
Im running a single 2.5" Catco converter from Summit racing, cost $70, and a Kooks Headers custom stainless exaust with the Borla Xr-1 mufflers, it passes NYS emissions, but its still loud. After hearing 13B ace's car with the Racing Beat, I would DEFINITLY go with it. Its worth the money. $340 for a dp is way too much money by the way
|
340 for dual cats... which includes the dp. also iwant to stay dual and avoid the ricey look of a 5 inch tip... dont want anythnig over 3.5... guess im goint to have to settle for the noise. borla from their site lists a full cat back for the 86-91 rx-7

Well, its a desirable trait in women, why not exhausts? |

I think I'll run the N1 single when I do get a catback. I just don't like that big ass 4.5" tip. Maybe we got it good here in Virginia, but I think I could roll through town with no exhaust and the cops wouldn't even look at me. |
n1 sounds good! trust me i have one! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

i just have to be careful not to burn ppl im racing  https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

How loud can it be? Too loud to not be on a fast car, lol. How about I cant hear the bass in my stereo when Im under way? Resonates in the cabin, not as much as before the converter was added, but still it gets on your nerves. GTU jeremy- if your in my area one day, Ill let you hear the Borla
|
yeah really... how loud can an umoded na possibly be? im just going to get the borla.. intercooled tips look cool and dnt look like coffee cans... now i just got to save the money. i figure ill probly get a dcent power increase over my leaky exhaust and 12 year old rusty ass cats. my car is pretty loud now anyway since mot of te sound escapes b4 it even reaches the muffler

I like how my NA sounds with the full RB exhaust, no cat. I only found it annoying once on a road trip, cruising around 90mph in 5th had this constant drone that gave me a headache after a couple hours... my gf didnt mind it though *shrug*. |

When my exaust was getting done, I went there and heard the car before the mufflers got welded on. The next day when I picked the car up, it sounded the same, so basically the Borla mufflers didnt muffle anything
