Ive got a 90 TII with the following:
-Apexi Power Intake -Custom 3" full exhaust no cats -Mechanical boost guage That's about all that would deal with boost. It doesn't run the full 8 lbs of boost its supposed to.Something electric must be messed up. In 1st it runs to 5.5lbs In 2nd it runs to 5.5lbs In 3rd it runs to like 6 lbs and stays In 4th on the freeway it goes immediately to like 7.5 lbs and stays there, doesn't creep. In 5th maybe like 6.5 or 7 lbs again (I haven't had it at like 6k in 5th gear though). Anyone know why it runs immediately up to 7.5 in 4th,but won't do that in any other gear at all? It's stopping right at 5.5 lbs before, where the wastegate is mechanically sprung. It's really really odd...and I don't think it's creeping which is odd. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif |
did you port your wastegate? that leads to boostcreep.
|
post a pic of your engine bay I have a little bit of an idea why it is doing this, but I need to look at something first.

why? free flowing exhaust, and nothing controling his boost, with a non ported wastegate does lead boost creep doesnt it? correct me if im wrong, i guess im stupid?
|
so im gonna need a boost controller
|
porting your wastegate is also a good idea.

bah i messed up my statements. ok here it goes.
did you port your wastegate, if you didnt that could lead to boost creep. if you didnt port your watsegate yet it could creep higher than the 7.5 you've seen. |
I dont think its cool or funny spreading misinformation.

Its cool man. Its just that there is alot of people who are reading and arent posting who are trying to learn this stuff and dont need more confusion.
|
yeah i hear ya, sorry bout that. i fixed what i said.
|
The thread is about low boost, though.

Dramon,
Not sure why you decided to hijack this post, but your not helping the man with your ranting and raving about your problems. If you have nothing to help with the mans post, you should not be commenting on it. Does it make you feel better to do this in someone elses post since you cannot listen to simple reason in the posts you make? Please refrain from the bickering in this section of the forum and leave your problems in Gen D |
Ok you cant lower your boost with a boost controller, so that plan is out the window.
Are you trying to keep the boost a 5.5psi, im unsure of stock levels but i think thats it, if so due to your restrictions missing (stock exhaust and intake) you will suffer possible boost creep. My suggestions is porting the wastegate, that would be the first step in this problem. If that doesnt fix it you may need to look deeper, but I'm sure the portnig will do the job for now. Also please remember boost controller cannot lower your boost. kevin. |

You see, this is too hostile of an environment. I was innitially under the impression that g_dripht-alex was intentionally misleading, in which he prolly wasnt. And now all this drama! Everybodys on edge.
No offence to Phins or Nopistons in general but this place needs an enema. |

No offence to Phins or Nopistons in general but this place needs an enema. To avoid the drama you could have asked for further information as to what alex meant, or perhaps for a clarification. Calling people names neevr solves anything. Please refrain from posting anything pertaining to the "drama" subject and stay tuned to the topic for which this is about. If you'd liek to argue with myself, alex, dramon, or frestyle we all use the PM system for a reason. Please do not take this harshly, but i'm working on giving this "enema" you're speaking of. Good day sir, kevin. |

Not to be rude or offensive but you started "the drama" by calling his reply stupid.

Hey 4rr, are you going by the stock boost gauge or an aftermarket one?
Im just thinking full exhaust and intake and its running less boost then its supposed to, either the gauge is inaccurate or something is wrong. I mean dramon with a dp/mp is creeping to 10psi at 5k.... |
i might be an *******, but not when im trying to help someone out. my intentions were never to mislead. i unintentionally type what i meant wrong. sorry about that.

It's funny tension is high because people think the tension is high. LOL.

i heart bunnys, kittens and anything that is fluffy and soft.

Dramon consider yourself warned.
