Where is the Rb boost guage suposed to connect? I tried connecting it to the line that plugs into the same pod as the FCD, but no workie... what other options are there? We did the "blow test" and verifed the guage does work.

Rotaryman88 07-21-2002 10:41 PM

Is the RB guage electric?

phinsup 07-21-2002 10:42 PM

No

Rotaryman88 07-21-2002 10:45 PM

So your just wondering where the vacum line goes?

phinsup 07-21-2002 10:47 PM

YUP

vosko 07-21-2002 10:50 PM

you can tee it to any vacuum source. doesn't matter

Rotaryman88 07-21-2002 10:58 PM

The most common place is to T the line into the vacuum hose coming from the factory charge relief valve(BOV) and leads into the UIM. That's a good place for an acurate reading...I've got a pic if you need one..

phinsup 07-21-2002 11:02 PM

it didn't work when I came off the vacuum line from the pod that the FCD goes too.

Rotaryman88 07-21-2002 11:09 PM

Hmm...well, like vosko said...just about any vaccuum source will work, typically ones around the UIM are best...

ILUVMY88CABRIO 07-22-2002 12:10 AM

It didn't work there? That's odd, the hose goes from the UIM to the pressure sensor.

If it makes you feel better my stock boost gauge isn't working now. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png It was last night when I drove home. Oh well. I might just hook the gauges from Rotormotorsports, since I'm getting sick of waiting for Slave to send the other ones. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

OKIERX-7 07-22-2002 05:51 AM

That is odd that hooking it into a source from the UIM soesn't work. Maybe the vacuum line is bad/broken. Try running some new line to hit off the UIM.

ILUVMY88CABRIO 07-22-2002 12:42 PM

I'm thinking of just tapping right into the TB, antone know if this would be a bad thing? I can always plug the hole if I get rid of the gauge.

vosko 07-22-2002 12:56 PM

you can run off the TB that is just vacuum

I think I'm going to be making a custom inlet for the TB, and I was thinking of just drilling an hole into it (or the TB) tapping that hole, then screwing the other end of the hose that goes to the boost gauge into that hole. I think you were thinking I was talking about tapping into one of the vac lines from the TB.
