I drive a S4 with S/P motor, fuel upgrades(FCON), full exhaust and intake. I want to send my turbo off to get a BNR up grade im thinking a stage 3. does any one have any experience with this? What all should I have done to it I know that there are a few options. Any problems I will run into? just any info would be appreciated pros, cons good or bad experiences. THanks

Personally I wouldnt get the 87-88 turbo upgraded as its wastegate would require a lot of modification to flow well enough for a hybrid.
You should be able to pick up an 89-91 turbo and manifold that needs rebuilding for $100-$200. |
yes do an s5 turbo. i have a hybrid s5 turbo its great

I have a BNR stage 3 in my well on the work bench next to my Rx-7 at the moment https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Yes, by all means score a kouki manifold and turbo. I picked up a spare turbo just to do this. The Stage 2 I have from BNR is practically a Stage 3. Anyway, I was able to put down some healthy numbers when I went to the dyno. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

What if I did it to a S4 and just ported the **** out of the wastegate and welded a new flapper door on?? Also why is stage 2 and 3 the same price? When I talk to the guy at RX7store or what ever he sounds like he dosent know **** about them. Just tells me to send in the turbo with a sheet of paper of what I want but its hard to figure out what I want when no one can answer questions! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png Is there a phone # I can call to get ahold of the gu that actually does this so I can get a little help and figure out a price???

you have a bigger puck on the wastegate?
|
I'm not sure...I didn't do the work myself.
|
does BNR have a website?
|
Bryan at BNR says the S4 hotside is better for porting. The S5 starts larger but the back runner can't be opened that much without making the runner to thin.

im still waiting for mine to come back, you can either send them a turbo or they have cores they can build I opted for the s4 stage three with all the options listed on rx-7store.net. A guy I know put down 294 whp on a stage 1 @11psi!
|
so BNR only goes through rx7store?
|
No, but I don't think they have a website anymore. The best thing you can do is call them and talk to them about what you want. I had a great experience going through them a couple years back. . Heres the tele:
