I don't like mine cause it takes the boost away when shifting. Are there blow off valves that regulate the air leaving to keep it at 15 psi or do i have to go with a recirculating setup?

hehe, thats what they are suppose to do..

i could clog my BOV or something so it doesnt release the pressure and then sell it to you https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.

that pressue i thought hits the compressor wall and hurts the turbo thats why it is realeased (thats what i came to the conclusion that it does at least i dont know half of what some other boyz in here do)

You are correct, it's called compressor surge. When the throttle plates slam closed, the compressed air hits the compressor wheel and forces it against the compressor housing.

Its called a dump valve for a reason sonny boy

there is a way around this, you can keep 15 psi at the turbo all the time, just keep the gas mashed to the floor, and grab gears, for get the clutch, forget getting off the gas just mash them until you get where you want to be :P I don't believe the transmission will last too long, but you will keep your 15psi of boost.

im using a blitz BOV and i like it better than stock cause it lets me get into boost faster...

hte old one took tolong to reliease the pressure so it would slow down th compresser wheel this this one dumping all the air fast before it can slow down the compresser wheel i can get into boost faster

BTW what do you have done to the motor that your running 15 PSI?

rmaiersg 09-19-2003 06:44 PM

Well, if you open the valve when the pressure increases and close it when it goes to 15 psi again or maybe like 12 and let it fluctuate around 15 psi ( like 12-18 psi ). You;d have the sound plus the responsive boost. Are there any blow off valves like this that exist? I don't want some uncontrolled dump!

rmaiersg 09-19-2003 06:47 PM

nothing internally just RB turboback S-AFC fuel pump etc. FMIC and a few other minor details. I'm finna go standalone next summer probably and a bigger turbo. It's stored while I'm at school.

BTW, I wasn't doing 15 psi before only like 12 or so.
