Hello all,

Just so you know I couldn't leave. I heard it in my sleep. But I thought that maybe I could offer a mod to you s4 owners.

http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...55_35_full.jpg

I can blackout your tail lights, I did this to my friend's car and he thought they looked better than s5 tail lights. I would offer his but they got pretty banged up in our engine work. But if anyone is interested just email me at je415@hotmail.com for further information. I will charge $50 and you pay shipping.

John

50 bucks for spray paint?!

MazdaMike 03-02-2004 12:45 PM

yea i spent 65 plus shipping for my tail light conversion but that involved a heatgun dissassembling the lights making the template spraying em and putting em back together....

do u spray the outside or do u take em apart and go from the inside. or do u just use tint tape

MazdaMike 03-02-2004 12:47 PM

i do like the look of the lights though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

So you window tint from the inside?

I'm waiting for Rob to chime in with his thoughts.

Blacked out tails looks great, especially on black fcs..

how much tint is it... does it hurt any visibility

you dont want people to smasher into yous

John415 03-02-2004 01:03 PM

I tint from the outside. As long as there aren't scrathed they hold up fine, even in high pressure car washs. In the day there are alittle hard to see but notihing worst than blackouts for any other vechicle. and at night they are fine.

Baldy 03-02-2004 01:07 PM

Is it possible to use a slightly less darkness, in lieu of greater visibility? I guess that would be a "smoked" lens?

John415 03-02-2004 01:24 PM

Yeah you could use lighter if you wanted

Rob x-7 03-02-2004 07:22 PM

you use window tint from the outside?

are you out of your mind?

I sold window tint, I would DEFINITLY not recommend putting it

on the outside of tailights, one light scratch from washing the car

and they will be done, once the edge of the tint lifts it will be

done, I cant even imagine what ice would end up doing to them.

people can get thier whole cars tinted for $100, you want

$50 to do a set of lights on your work bench, and you want people

to pay to ship them to you as well?

the correct way for someone to do this mod is so incredibly easy

and inexpensive, if your going to offer a service, at least be realistic

about it

Tint from the outside...hmmm not the brightest idea. Maybe from the interior as stated before. I believe I could blow window tint off with the garden hose...

your tails look sharp, why pay 50 to have a half ass job? I do believe I would go with the paint option from inside the lens. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683827.gif

FrestyleFC3S 03-02-2004 08:02 PM

was this tinted outside? inside? or was it spray painted?

1Revvin7 03-03-2004 11:55 AM

You will have to ask rob, whatever he did it was done from the inside.

UniqueTII 03-03-2004 12:10 PM

He sprayed them. I had smoked lenses on my TII and I never want anything else. You could still see the brake lights just fine at any time of day, and they look 10X better than stock.

Rob x-7 03-03-2004 08:04 PM

prepped and sprayed from the inside, Im not into the paint

being on the outside, doesnt look factory and the cops wont

bother you either.

roadkill669 03-04-2004 01:38 AM

What kind of paint do you use

RX7_TT 03-04-2004 01:49 AM

Hell, even permanent marker on the inside would be better than tint on the outside. A buddy of mine did it on his Geo, looked quite good.

good luck getting the marker on the inside of the FC lights, would be alot

easier if they came apart without breaking
