I have a 91 Conv, stock as of this point. I'm getting a custom exhaust from a good local exhaust place. The clutch needs done as well, since it slips a little. What company/flywheel is best? And pricing does have some weight to decisions. Thanks!

FLywheels are mainly for race, if you drive the car in traffic it will require lots of patience to get used to.. since there is less rotating mass the car is more likely to stall..

you have to rev the car higher to get it goin.. if you add a performance clutch too it will be nuts.. just dont go all out race flywheel.. try one that is only a couple pounds off stock..

go to mazdatrix.com to read about making the flywheel clucth choice. The more racey the clucth, usually the fast it burns up with regular driving.

ACT is a pretty good company. Never had a problem with them. Thier 6 puck clutches last a pretty good time if you need a race clutch.

From what I have read, for normal driving conditions, stock is the way

to go.

If your looking for drag racing, the heavier the flywheel, the better. Roadracing, usually the lighter the better.

I have a Flywheel that weighs about 10lbs or so, came on my jspec so I have no clue on make, I also have a ACT hd PP and SS disc, I love it, never stalls, kinda sucks when you are in traffic, and have the, heater on, defrost on and the lights on, but it still idles pretty good.
