I think one of the best exhaust is the Apex N1 exhast. It all depends if you want to keep the dual exhaust or turn to single.
The website that has it the cheapest in www.I-M-Racing.com or NOPI.com gimme a holla back rotaryrocket@rx-7.net |
I bought the Apex N1 duals for my '87. It's not installed yet.. but I bet they're gonna be loud as hell..(at least that's what I've heard others say) even with the silencers.. too bad I wasn't going for the loud effect.. :squint: damnit..
|
i've had the single N1 for 3 years...great system...
not loud at all........well, as long as you still have a cat https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |

What if you have headers and no cats what cat back would you use to make it not as loud
|
I was going to get some Racing Beat headers but it was on back order forever..

Yea I started it up with the headers only..it was real loud
|
Sort of different, but I drove my TII for an hour downpipe only! It was like driving a prop plane with no sound dampening!
|
isnt the N1 just a muffler if u want an exhaust i heard racing beat is the best my 87 tII came with the 3" duel straght pipe mad hush hush and mad power i likem but never drove in a 7 without one so i dont know the diff,,,everybody i know has racen beat
|
Anyone know if the Rotary Performance Cat-back system is any good? I know it's the lowest price, and I saw in Rotaryman88's FAQ about staged mods for FCs that he listed that one as a good one. Anybody actually tried it out?

Ive heard many things some say its loud other say it low i guess it all depends on the person's perspective but i know they are very popular i just ordered them and decided to stay with the dual configuration. The racing beat one isnt bad but the tip is too small its like 3'' the apex n1 is like 4.5''

yeah the n1 was great. didnt hurt my hearing even w/o my cats. dont think my neighbors like it when i went to work on the weekends at 6am though.
|
it all comes down to noise levels...the N1 and racingbeat systems are both the best you can get..
N1=more power, but loud duals or single RacingBeat= still more power, but not as much as the N1...sexy,low stealth sound i prefer the looks and sound of the racing beat...just remember...you get what you pay for, cheap exhaust is, well cheaply made. The racingBeat and Apex'i systems are bar none with quality of materials and construction...welded mufflers, nice bends, durable sound insulation, i did my research..now only if had some money |

the mild steel ones will out live the car, they are beefy
mike |
thats on the muffler cans though... the downpipe and Y pipe are still steel i think
oh well... i want! |
What about the 5zigen Fireball?
|
(sorry thats a full setup) https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif
|
they sell a full stainless system do they not?
If not its really easy for a shop to make you that y-pipe in stainless I had a shop custom make me one. |
i'll take the racing beat ones
made in the U.S.of ******* A |

but, RB seems to be a good company. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

The 5Zigen fireball is only made to my knowledge for the 93-95 RX-7's if they had it for the
second geni woulda been got it. NOt to say that the racing beat one isnt tight its just that the design doesnt fit my taste all the way but i hear its stealthy but powerful. ill continue my research but as of now the RB exhaust and the Apex N1 are pretty close. wassup MIGHTy WHItey |
Does anyone know how good the Corksport exhaust is? I know it resembles the apex N1
but its it durable and does it sound nice? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/flamed.gif |
yo how does the HKS exhaust perform for a rotary. i hear alot of racing beat and apex,
but what about HKS, JIC, Feed, Border or MAZDASPEED https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif . I know most of the last ones i cant afford but does anyone have anytype of info or records of performance? |
I was looking for maximum performance without spending the big bucks. From the turbo, I'm running the HKS dowpipe, a Bonez hi-flow cat, and a local good-ol-boy shop installed a 3" single pipe back to a 3" in/out Borla stainless straight-thru muffler. They did a nice job. It's still not exactly cheap--I figure I've spent about $800. for the complete turbo-back system.
It's not as loud as I thought it would be, but some might consider it loud. I drove it across town on the interstate the other day, and it drones a little at cruise, but that's the way it is, and I LIKE it! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
i only have one complaint about the N1's and that's the fact that the actual mufflers have to sit on an angle and they're too ******* low under the car. thank god i moved away from florida aka the land of speed bumps. i just can't believe that they would design a cat back for a car and not even think about the fact that they won't fit next to the gas tank... other than that i love them, but if you have to deal with any state inspections like i do in NJ then definately pick up the silencers. or find some mechanic that will just sell you a sticker.
|
lol good looking out rxheaven i think im going to get good ol Racing Beat.. =0) :yum:
|
the mufflers are made in japan on the racing beat https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png or used to be, they changed muffler makers but i think theyre sitll made overseas
|
:wiggle: made in taiwan isnt everything lol. RB had RSR in japan manufacturing the exhaust but when prices got high they changed manufacterers i dont know if they made here in the U.S.A or overseas, but racing beat is a good company or why would mazda let them design parts for their cars ex. the mazdaspeed protege with racing beat mods on it!!! there a tight company and from what i seen so far there products are always goooood :werd:
|
prdrx7 told me that the hks was as good as the rb exhaust can anyone rectify that? Does anyone have hks catback on thier FC https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif
|
the corksport is th cheapest you can get and it sounds good too but it'd way loud if you dont have a cat.
