Has anyone used their adapter to run a FD power fc? It would be cheaper than using a haltech but is it worth saving that $300?

teknics 02-12-2007 05:12 PM

it was *JUST* released...

Sounds like a cool idea but would this work on s4 and s5 models ? or only s5 ?

wtfdidusay82 02-12-2007 05:17 PM

Ok I just read that its only for S5 TII and i have S4 Na oh well, guess the best option for me whenever I get around to it would be just getting a safc

teknics 02-12-2007 05:40 PM

yea, theres a couple writeups of guys using the PFC on an s5 around here tho, i think the northwest section has a nice writeup on it. seems cool, i got a PFC for my FD and it seems nifty, cant wait to compare it to my fc's wolf unit.

you could always go with a megasquirt, altho the build-it-yourself aspect isnt for everyone

wtfdidusay82 02-13-2007 03:25 AM

Yeah I dont think its for me , maybe if someone put it together for me because I think i would be bound to mess up on the install , I bet its really complicated.

wackaloo13 02-13-2007 11:27 AM

Its between the Haltech and that. I figured if i could save my self 5 hours of wiring why not? I definitely turns out being cheaper especially because the haltechs need some extra sensors. The haltech is 1250ish with all the sensors. The power fc is 650ish+300 for the kit. In the end the $300 difference isnt a whole lot compared to the price of the whole build so it boils down to whats going to be easier to tune/deal with.

any link to this adapter? i have an s5 TII and a PFC!

teknics 02-13-2007 02:21 PM

banzai-racing.com or something. just google banzai racing, they make poly mounts and stuff too. i have their tranny mounts in my s5 t2.

^^lol impulse buy

sen2two 02-13-2007 05:27 PM

now what im wondering is. can i use the PFC for both my FC and FD. swapping only takes about 2 minutes.

http://www.fc-datalogit.co.nz/

i have the FC-data logit ^. so couldnt i just use the same ECU a load my FC or FD map for wich ever car i choose th drive that day?

teknics 02-13-2007 05:33 PM

swap the whole ecu? i guess...but i think it would have to re-learn the idle everytime.

So you will be using a stock FD map in the powerFC with a series5tii engine? How optimized will that be under the basic config without any tuning?

sen2two 02-16-2007 09:33 AM

no...it comes base mapped from banzai. you list your mods (injectors, turbo size, blah blah blah) and its good enough to drive to the tuner they said.

they email you it or send it on a disk. then you just copy and add it in.

sen2two 02-16-2007 09:34 AM

oh...and since i can log maps with my FC-data logit. i can use this ECU for both cars. just by switching maps https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

makes the other car un-stealable while its parked.
