S4 GXL

Leaking P.D.

Doing the BBM, so don't try and talk me out of it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

However, I've got a little problem. I have the Banjo Bolt off the back of an S4 fuel rail (Good source for the mod) and the OEM crush washers. Apparently, the P.D. fuel fitting (Which you reuse) is bored out differently from one end to the other. I.E., It's wider inside at one end and more narrow at the other...they created sort of a little lip on the inside. A friend of mine put this all together at work and said it won't work...said the bolt is too long by about 1mm and the crush washer doesn't have enough surface area to seal it.

I've spoken with a few people, and searched like mad and I have never heard of this issue. I was told to use the S4 Fuel Rail Banjo Bolt, the OEM crush washers and that's it.

So I need some input.

thats what i did.

Yes, but which washers did you use? The P.D. ones with the four teeth or the rear-fitting washers that are smaller?

i think i used the washers from the banjo bolt, but i dont remember....

i actually used the damper from an mpv 91ish, its the fc one with hose barbs, so you can put it anywhere

Well, for anyone who may want to know in the future, use a new P.D. side crush washer (The kind with the teeth) and the Fuel Rail side crush washer (Plain and round).

It worked just fine.

gets ridd of a leaking pulsation dampener so ur car doesnt start on fire

Mazcura 01-09-2007 12:43 PM

The Banjo Bolt Mod is the replacement of the P.D. with a Banjo Bolt that you source from another S4 primary fuel rail, from the back end. It is a Pulsation Damper Delete, and IIRC, it's only recommended on stock or relatively stock N/A motors, and not the Turbos.

While there is no hard proof that it causes any problems with the suggested motors, some believe the mod is stupid and will burst a fuel line or harm your injectors.

you also nd to get an inline pulsation damper, it makes tunning a bitch if you dont have one. when we tunned on my car some the fuel pressure was really jumping around.

Well currently the car is not running. It flooded when I tried to start it for the first time with the banjo bolt in, and adding to that, that my plugs are from 2002... It was the last blow for the old spark plugs and they completely fouled up. They're getting a bath, and I'm buying new plugs.
