For those of that have no cats I was wondering if you've experienced this. With all the cold air lately my car seems to backfire and throw flames more often. Well it never backfired real loud before this. Anyways does anybody know if this is normal in cold weather? If not what could be causing this? Thanks.

thats not something bad, and not something you should try to get rid of, just have fun with it and scare people

yea set off car alarms with the backfiring sound, and lets see how many civics wanna race after seeing the fire (i mean dumb ricers wouldnt kno wut a rx7 anyways, but the fire would scare them)

OK cool. The backfire thing was what really was bothering me. I knew the flame throwing was normal, but I didn't think the backfire was. Thanks guys.

I've got no cats, but my car never backfires, nor throws flames. Actually, with the header, it backfires a little between high rpm shifts.

yeah, now that its colder, i've noticed a lot more loud flames. gotta love that nice crack sound and people's reactions https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

what causes backfiring, if no one minds me admitting that i havent got a clue, i've always simply assumed it was a bad thing.
i have a clue in my head what it is but dont wanna seem stupid... kevin |
