ok here is the issue i have a 90 vert automatic 123k strong motor .

the transmission is not shifting gears when i drive it at low rpms , it does when i floor it



the oil is clean dont smell burn , anybody had this problem before?

im thinking maybe a tps problem or is there an ecu for the trans ?>

Not shifting? or getting into top gear so soon that you're not aware of it shifting?

not shifting it stays in low gear past 6krpms .

And if you floor it, it shifts? That's kinda weird. Fluid level correct?

yes it shift hard when i floor it , are this trans electronic? i had a problem like that with a pathfinder the tps fix it so i wonder if it has something to do with it

Not sure, but I don't think it's electronic.



According to my manual, for no 1-2 shift:



Check Range selector linkage, Vacuum diaphragm and piping, Kickdown solenoid, switch and wiring, and some other stuff in decreasing order of probability.



For excessively high 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 shift points:



Check ATF level and condition, same stuff as above, and fluid pressure (line and governor).
