Got to put the pedal all the way to the floor to get the down shift. I checked the vac sensor and it changes voltage when a vac is applied. I don't if it is calabrated though. Any Ideas??? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

damn..... my AT Will not shift from 2nd to 3rd when warmed up and it downshifts at way to high speed and rpm's the motor to 7500 + how/ where is the vac sensor to test it... any threads on testing procedure? Not trying to highjack your thread but maybe our problem is related.

There is a little black box (1" by 1") mounted on the passenger side of the car near the airfilter. It has a vac and wire connector. My haynes manual says it is for the Auto trany. Need a vac guage to test it correctly but I just hooked up a vac hose and a volt meter and suched on the hose and watched the voltage change. I'll double check all this with the manual that is in the car.

Check the modulator valve on the side of the tranny, if it is bad or not adjusted, your car will shift too hard or not at all. There is a screw valve inside adjusted by a screwdriver. If you take the vacuum line off and aft comes out, change it. Also check to make sure the vacuum line running back to the engine bay is not cracked or pinched. This is what caused my problems. Good luck.

I can't remember, is this tranny also control by cable at the throttle or by the computer?

Some car have a wire form teh throttle body to the valve train in the tranny that controls the shifting, adjusting this wire can change the way the tranny shifts. I'm not sure the rx7 tranny has this?
