I was going to have a cover made for my convertible that would cover the top, back window, side windows, and windshield. They sell these for Corvettes. Purpose would obviously be to keep water out of the car, those who may park thier cars in the streets, or like me who dont want to put a full cover on thier car everytime they come home ( especially if the car is wet, and with the hot exaust), would benefit from one. PLus you could just throw it in the trunk when not in use. I already have my canvas shop ready to make one for me that does the work for my shop on boats. If anyone is interested, let me know and Ill get more details.

I may be interested, depending on the price.

Interested. How much?

My canvas guy went to Daytona for 2 weeks, when he comes back, he will let me know ( I had gotten a price like 2 years ago, but for some reason never did it ). Material would be high quality black marine grade canvas, with all stainless fastners that wouldnt rust. It would attach around the back where the boot attaches with the same type of fastners, and probably 2 small straps that would go around the wiper arms and snap to itself ( if he thinks these are even neccessary). I for one have almost given up the idea of a leak free 'vert, and all it takes is one good rain to make the inside wet for some time, these cars arent getting any younger, and I cringe at the idea of the water sitting on the floorboards and rotting the floors away, also all that moisture inside is so bad for all the electronics inside. On a side note- I keep one of those mildew prevention bags type of things inside the car- every bit helps!

I hear you there. I live in Seattle, where it always rains. :frown:

I am sorry you guys get all that rain. I live in Georgia and we have had a drought for several years now. It does not rain very much and I keep her under the car port when it does. I am going to try to post some pictures some time this week. I would still like to know about the cover for those few times that I am out and it starts to rain. Thanks.

The ones for the Corvettes are like $175 I believe, expect a price of about $125-150, but maybe if I have him make 5 of them, he will drop the price. Who knows, he could be in a great mood and give me a price closer to $100( remeber this guy is hand making these, not mass produced ). I could always sell them on Ebay! I could also ask him about making them in more of a nylon canvas versus the Sunbrella fabric, but I do belive the Sunbrella fabric is moe breathable. Even if you dont get alot of rain- that means you get alot of sun, and a cover would still keep it from drying out in the sun.
