I did it today, well see what happens tomorrow. I tried to do a compression test with a standard tester. I removed the check valve and I could see the needle bounce... but it was way to hard to see each rotor pulse... I guess I could have recorded it on the camcorder and played it back in slow mo.





Anyway I used the compression tester tube to pour 2 capfulls of ATF into each chamber, turning the motor as I went.



So tomorrow We'll see if it made a difference. (I'm sure my neighbors will love me, I'm going to wait until it's dark)



Compression seemed even... and around 80 PSI, but like I said it was too fast to really tell.

**** i started out with trick on rebuilt eng[by us] to start with. lube is life of any eng especialy 7`s.

I should have done it when my motor was out... or when I put my header on... that way I could see it and stop it for running out the exhaust ports.



I went out and turned the motor a few times by hand (some 8 hours later) to make sure It gets in there good.

what bout for tii? safe?

ATF works on any motor really...I used it on my jspec GTX...

If I remember right it leans out your fuel mixture which could cause some issues. I'm sure one of the guys who HAS a turbo and knows more then I do can say for sure.



*mutters about the lack of a turbo*

The ATF will only lean the mixture out while its still in the system, once you get 3 or 4 6kRPM passes down and burn all the ATF out..your mixture will return to normal...unless you have to readjust for the added power you may have restored from getting rid of the carbon.

Makes sense, so long as you're not too close to detonation it shouldn't cuase any real havoc. Cool.

Well I fired it up today... I had to wait until it was dark. The smoke wasn't quite as bad as thought.... It wasn't as bad as the time I flooded my RX7 due to a dead battery and had to squirt oil in the plug holes to get it running.



BUT there was a lot of back firing and I had to idle it for 2-3 minutes before I could drive it. MY A/F Meter said I was totally lean, So I just idled it until the A/F meter came alive, probably the ATF on the O2 Sensor.



I'll have to use the G-tech to see if it really made a difference. Tonight was just a run around the block to get the smoke out.



I did notice that the pipe behind my 1st muffler is RED HOT. The metal is glowing red. Could be a sign that my 2nd end muffler is clogged... could be where my missing HP is?



The one draw back with my whole motor swap is this exhaust. The Suzuki had the tailpipe outlet on the opposite side of where the Mazda exhaust is. Which means I had to snake it to the left right after the first muffler (about where the rear end is) to get it out the drivers side.



I need to find an exhaust shop that can do some heavy duty metal bending.



(The option of putting the exhaust out the passenger side is not a good one as My gas tank would need to be moved over... and I would have a filler neck to deal with)
