Ok well i have my TII running perfect now. I have ordered a HKS T51R turbo wit a T04E turbo kit without the turbo, i have also ordered the GP Sports body kit for the car. Its black, should look like the GP Sporst car:)https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png:)https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png:)
Next on my list is some electronice. Im looking at going with A'PEXi stuff. S-AFC- Fuel controller AVC-R- Boost controler Auto timer- turbo timer RSM-GP- Rev/speed meter G sensor- self explanitory and EL II guages. Now my question is weather all those components work well with the 2nd gen electronics. And if it is an easy hook up to the car. Also are there any other products in the same price range that offere the sam kind of performance or better? Thanks alot. Tim |
t51r + safc = NO.
Get a standalone. |
apexi power fc
|
I agree, you need a standalone at this point. Also the rev speed meter is just like a G-Tech for 2x the price, and about as accurate. The hookups are easy, just remember all the electronics and gauges draw power at idle, you may want to look at upgrading the alternator too.
|
i suggest getting an escort passport gt1 or gt2 instead of the g tech, it gives g's in circle friction graph, plus its about 1/4 the size.... and cheaper than g tech competition also.
|
So you think a t51R will fit on to4 manifold. Not only that, but safc with that turbo? Funny how even the most money will not allow one to have the best car..
|
The T51R turbo will mount the the T04E manifold with some modification. And besids that fact i was just inquiring to the products offered by APEXi.
I am leaning towards APEXi becuase i can get it at a very good price. Also i should mention again this is for my 1990 Turbo II and not the R2. The R2 will remain stock for the time being. Mentioning that, i thin kthat it rules out the Power FC. I checked the applications for the Power FC offered by APEXi and it is not available for the 2nd gen RX7. Dose anyone else offer a comprable stand alone managment system to the Power FC for my Turbo II??? |
Who's going to be doing the tuning? Find a good tuner, preferably one with rotary experience, and see which EMS he has the most experience with. That'll save a lot of time and headaches when setting up and troubleshooting.

I'm curious as to why you got a pfc.
|
Go with a haltech. I don't feel the pfc has enough tuning resolution for the amount of boost that turbo is capable of.

Please explain this lack of resolution. I'm curious.
|
well the pfc has 16? load points for every rpm point, where the haltech has 22. basically the haltech has the 0-5v of the map sensor broken up into finer chunks

I have yet tu purchase any of the previously mentioned equipment. I was just feeling it out so to speak.
Hopeing to hear peoples experance with these things. I was curious to see if anyone had a power fc in a t2, i have seen a few cars with it but i was not aware that there was a harness that you can use. The tuner i have is familiar with APEXi products. That is why i can get them for a great deal. Im a mechanic my self but i would like the aid of a profesional tuner in these things. PS the guy who is getting me the APEXi stuff is my brother in law, and when i say a good deal i mean a GOOD deal.https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Is the Haltech tunable from inside the car? Or do you need to plug a computer into it everytime you want to change a peramiter? |
You talking all piggy backs and while they are decent they are considered band aids. I agree with everyone here get a good stand alone you will never regret it.
Here is a list of different EMS's Info for the Wolf as it relates to a Rotary http://redlinerotary.com/wolf3d.htm Microtech: http://www.microtechefi.com/ Haltech: _ Would only go through Matt (Hitman) for this he offers the best support: http://www.hitman.hm/haltech.htm Motec if you have the money- My personal pick but its expensive. http://www.motec.com.au/ You will be better off in the long run biting the bullet now and getting one. I tried to get not get one and wasted a lot of money of stuff one little box will do. The Microtech has a hand controller option so you can tune on the run while in your car and eliminates the need for a laptop. Good luck. |

It's actually 20x20 for the pfc, and I believe 18x32 for the Haltech.
