Sorry if this is already discussed in another thread.
My car, 88 na, has always had this problem, whenever i rev my car at 5k+rpms, my car blows MASSIVE amounts of white smoke..before i thought i just had a clogged Cat, but i recently removed my cat and placed in a testpipe resonator...but the same issue arrives, one of my friends asked me if i blew my apex seals, and i have no clue whether i did or didnt. i also hear that coolant seals means white smoke as well, but i am not so sure as of now. |
Well, since you have an NA, coolant seals is probably the most likely. Does it smell like burning coolant? Kind of sweet?
|
Coolant seals.
Apex seals is always the diagnosis from someone who doesnt know about these engines. |
the smell is horrible, smells like something is burning for sure, cant find the right words to describe it.
|
Coolant smells sweet when it is being burned. You problem does sound like a coolant seal though. The best way to tell for sure is to have a compression test done, that will let you know exactly where you stand with the apex seals.

besides that big amount of huge white smoke, is there any other signs that show the problem is the coolant seals? for example...would my coolant be wasted very quickly? because it isnt. my coolant hasnt been touched since 6 monthes or maybe more, and when i open the cap the coolant still remains full
