I know that I need an Air:Fuel gauge to hook up to my O2 sensor. But from there what am I going to do? If I am to lean it out a little bit to get more horsepower, where on the gauge am I not going to go past? Pics and input are apprectiated.

It really depends on the gauge you use. The only real way to tune is to get a wide band. The narrow bands only can tell you if your going towards lean or towards rich, not exact.
You really gotta do it by feel. Just play with it and dont lean it out too much that you detonate. |
What would be a good wide band sensor, and where could I get one?
|
on an na you sorta dont need one, detonation isnt a problem.
http://www.rx-7parts.com/product_info.php/...products_id/268 thats the best wideband, as an alternative you could tune the car on the dyno |
So if I dont need one, do I just get an aftermarket one and use that with the o2 sensor?

I really dont want to spend that much right now b/c I just got the S-AFC, and that left a hole in my pocket as it was. So, by getting an A:F ratio gauge, and by the butt dyno, I can tune it with out having any problems, or am I going to risk the chance of detonation?
|
your butt is not calibrated for air/fuel ratios...
Spend the money now (wideband) or spend more later (new rebuild) |
Is there an eaiser way to tune the S-AFC? That is what I am asking, can I use an Autometer Air:Fuel ratio gauge or do I need to get a wide band O2 sensor?
