Aight gentlemen...well, the lower compression on a new rebuild has been common in some motors I've delt with, and I figured mine was the same...BUT...
Today I pulled the leading spark plug on the rear rotor...started the car, just to see if it would run on one rotor(boredom)..it did, ran decent, but not great...so I figured..great..the rear rotor is probably having its own problem....so I put the rear L plug in and took out the front L plug...tried starting...didnt start at first, but with a few more cranks it fired up...this was a good sign to show that both rotors have compression, but when all plugs are back in the engine hardly runs...so of course, TIMING! So after a while of dealing w/ my CAS(it doesnt come out easy..which makes me wonder if S4 & S5 motors have a dif front cover)...but I got it out...sure enough, timing was off..way off. Fixed that, but had to wait while I did some other things before tried to restart...
...I restarted the car w/ the now correct timing and viola! Started up...jumped up to about 5K though...then dropped back and bumped between 4 and 4.5K...stayed there for about a minute..I got out of the car to check for leaks, etc...but the car just died on me..It's most likely a vacum problem now, and I know I need to keep playing with the adjustments..I'm glad my timing is good now, and the car starts on every turn of the key..just doesnt idle! Lol..no biggie, just glad my car has compression!
