I dunno, it can take alot longer if you don't have the right tools on hand. Flywheel puller, 54mm socket, large breaker bar/pipe (or impact gun) are some that come to mind. Engine stand adapter...

I use both a hammer and a prybar. I've used a scissors jack as both a spring compressor and a frame straightener. Beat that! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

I hoist it up onto my chest, and after it's in I use a jackstand under the rear of the transmission to hold it in place. |

I hoist it up onto my chest, and after it's in I use a jackstand under the rear of the transmission to hold it in place. [/quote] man i've got you all beat here on the trans installation method https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png some rope through shifter hole, around rear of trans: http://pengaru.com/~swivel/cars/rx-7/04-16...02/IMG_1284.JPG piece of wood, wrap rope around wood tightly, rotate wood pulling rear of trans up til it touches torque tunnel, then C clamp rope to wood: http://pengaru.com/~swivel/cars/rx-7/04-16...02/IMG_1285.JPG The rest is history: http://pengaru.com/~swivel/cars/rx-7/04-16...02/IMG_1286.JPG The nice thing about this method is it makes it alot less weight to support while under the car lining it up with the engine, and theres nothing in the way of your legs supporting the trans that you might kick out or just get frustrated by... However, using this method the rear will be a bit lower relative to the front (not level with the car like when installed) but I had an engine hoist attached to the front of the motor only pivoting the motor back into the car, which made things line up beautifully. That skateboard comes in handy too  |
