Hi guys,

This is my first post on the site, (in fact it's my first visit to the site). I have a Series 4 (FC) RX7 Turbo II, and like a few people on the forum have some strange idle problems. My car also idles at various rates like 1500-2000rpm when you pull up at the lights, and if the car rests and idles for more than about 30secs it drops to around 750-1000rpm. I wanted to adjust the idle speed up a bit and consulted the manual, which said idle can be adjusted at the BAC valve. Well I looked at the spot it mentions, and the screw it talks about isn't there!!! Can any of you rotary legends help me...please.. by the way if you haven't already have a look at this awesome rotary site from Australia (home for me), then check it out. Pac Performance these guys have built dozens of 10, 9, 8 second rotaries!!! :p :p :p

It may seem strange to say that, but in my manual it says that blind cap covers the screw. I don't know what it looks like but it could be difficult to see at first. If I'm wrong, sorry for doubting you but I don't own a RX7 turbo. :dontgetit: ???

Yeah, this is half my problem. My manual says the same thing and there doesn't appear to be any 'blind cap' covering anything, in fact I can gat a screw driver into the little pipe thing, but there is no screw to turn there. I've checked with a torch and it's definately blank metal... I must be doing something wrong. I used to own a weber fed 13B RX4 and that was so easy to tune and play around with. Must admit, I love the turbo power, even if all the wiring and stuff makes the engine bay look a little messy....

I don't know if you got the Haynes manual but does it looks like in page 128. Because mine is like this and the hole-like looking thing is as you said. My car is non-turbo so the idle screw is on the throttle body.

Yup, I've got the Haynes manual (I haven't got it here as I'm actually at work, shhhh don't say anything..he he) but the picture you're looking at is definately the same one. Hmmm, it is mysterious. How does your 13B 6port go? have you done much to it?

Oh, one other weird thing. I think Mazda did a few cheap/stupid things when producing some cars. Like the internal fuse box which is referred to in the Haynes manual would be on the passengers (right hand side) of the car. Well on the Australian version, they simply left it where it was rather than mirroring and moving it to the left hand side. So you can imagine trying to get to the fuse box as it's stuffed down near the peddles and all other wiring?!?!??

So you're saying that you have same BAC as mine, mysterious it is, on turbo it's not supposed to have this one. :notify: My 13B 6 port is not in good health by this time. You can read about it in my yesterday post. About the fuse box, in mine it is on the driver's side, this mean left hand side for me, stuffed down there as you said. By the way, I had an idle problem when I bought my car 12 years ago but different symtoms. The adjustments I made then was the variable resistor near the air box, the TPS screw and the screw on throttle body that I mentionned earlier.
