I have been thinking about anodizing my TB, Plenum, and UIM. Does anyone know the specific alloy used to cast these parts?

thnx

nope, it might just be straight aluminum?

Its crappy Al. It doesnt weld that well so its gotta be a mild grade or just leftovers.

anodizing looks really cool but can be easily scratched off, i'd go with powder coating

Meh, Ill take a random spare part and throw it in my freinds anodizing setup, but it looks like powder coating is the way to go.

Thnx guys

which one is lighter wieght wise? i know powder coating would most likely last around 2 times longer than the other stuff.

I think that anodizing would be lighter, but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, powder coating would add about the same amount of weight that painting would.
