Well we decided to go with a 3.5" downpipe for kicks...
|

B25? What kind of power r u looking to put down?
|
damn i wish i had a lift...good pics man, now time for a front mount!
|
I just realized that looks like the same blue rattle can paint i used a few years ago on my manifolds....it doesn't last long just to warn ya!
Interested setup in general. Any reason why you went w/ that radiator? It's obviously a universal unit, etc due to the in/out locations....?? What sort of power are you looking for..? |

im guessing cause it was cheaper. it looks a little ummm ghetto. but hopefully you can get some good numbers. just a few things. that rad hose is gonna wear itself out quickly because as you can see in the pics without any flow it collapses, with flow it probably rounds out, then shrinks back to how it looks in the pics. thats going to wear out the hose pretty quickly. Also the connector pipe between rad hoses, hopefully you did a beaded lip, otherwise your car will shoot that pipe out or slice the hose where the hose clamps are, worm screw hose clamps like that are bad for coolant systems, that chew threw hoses when pressure is applied. still tho looks like itll work, and hope you make some good power. did ya get to use the "nasa spec clean room" lol. kevin. |
any pics of the car this is in??
|
every time i see that rad in an rx7 i laugh

Regardless of the numbers the car is fast enough. It lays patches through 3rd gear...
|
So it is running now huh? pics man...geez. I don't believe you https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

nick....... i have to see it before you go..........
elliot..... very nice work..... now it is my 7's turn lol! |

Ignore the #10 run( the low torque run); I tried to have the dyno operator do a comparison versus the old SSA manifold and his old O turbine wheel and .81 turbine A/R versus my manifold and the new P trim turbine wheel and 1.32 turbine A/R, but for some reason a dyno showed up that I have no idea what its from.
Here are his relevant mods: Rtek 1.7 ECU: new 550 primaries, new 720cc secondiares walbro 255lph hp and new 5/16 hardline from tank HKS AIC 2 x 380cc 3.5" downpipe/midpipe to a modified Apex N1 catback Cold air intake No ac/ps/clutch fan Water / Alcohol injection( intake temps start @ 22c and rise to 33C for this run) Garrett B25 compressor section( 52 to4E basically I believe), P trim turbine wheel, 1.32 divided tang housing Intake ports open slighly sooner than stock, exhaust is port matched to sleeve Compression is low ( 60psi even both rotors, all faces) * worn out drivetrain components are also have been taking a severe beating, making a lot of noise, probably hurting drivetrain losses. This is an electric chassis dyno. I was told by the owner they have noticed results 10-15% lower than their neighbor shop with a Mustang Dyno, now whether thats true or not I have not confirmed. Also after 6k rpms when the torque is dropping off pretty hard, we believe the car is being limited badly by the rtek 1.7 ecu's ignition advance, and probably the afm too. |
Here are a couple of his previous dynos:
The lower torque dyno was: SSA manifold, downpipe( 3" or 3 1/8") and midpipe to apex n1 B25 with O trim turbine wheel and .81 turbine a/r tang Rtek 1.7( 550, 720), and a walbro 255 lph hp afr's were in the 12s The second run with the midrang torque jump was after I made a water alcohol injection setup at the shop and street tuned his HKS AIC( 2 x 380cc ) Also fixed his cracked SSA manifold |
Not bad for stock ecu https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
