im lookin to by a gxl 2nd gen. non-turbo rx-7... i was thinkin of going turbo but now i want to go faster...how does an all-engine rx-7 sound?
Turbo is going to be faster than N/A. you can still pull good power out of a N/A as long as you port the motor :bigthumg:
in a 2nd gen. rx-7...turbo will ALWAYS be faster then NA?
almost always, yes, rotories are just not that fast when they are N/A, now, if you have some Uber Bridgeported, fully tuned Haltech using ported intake, open exhuast having super N/A, yes, it will be faster than a stock turbo, but, at that point you will have something like $10K invested in the N/A, and have it maxed out performance wise, and $0 in the turbo, and not even begun.
Most of the ones I have seen yes. I realy dont know if any one has fully built a N/A. Turbo cars have more things to change. ie Turbo, boost pressure, intercooler. turbo cars wont last as long but, its the choice people make
also i hope to have my ar daily driven...forced induction will make the enigne less reliable...also how much is it to do a turbo upgrade and to fully work a 13b engine in a 2nd gen. rx-7?
i went that all n/a route, got bored now im doing a swap, if speed is your goal or part of it get boosted.
you dont want to do that, it would be wayyy to much work when you could go ahead and buy a turbo with half the upgrades you would have to do standard on it.
