Well. I dont have headers installed yet. I no longer have an air pump. So i orderd the air control valve BLOCK OFF PLATE

I am pretty good with taking stuff apart in my engine. as far as intake manifolds and everything

I Removed the 3 bolts that hold the ACV on. And installed a new gasket and the block off plate

After installing it I started the car. The engine did not want to idle properly. When i first started it up (cold) she wanted to stall out. So i took her for a ride to warm her up. and when i pulled back in to the driveway she woulnt idle properly. She was at like 1400-1500 Rpms at idle. So i got fid up, took off the block off plate and reinstalled the ACV. Remembering to plug back in the two Plugs that come from the sensors on the ACV. What did i do wrong. I thought it was as simple as removing the ACV and installing the plate. What should i do. THanks for the help guys.

i did not change anything else besides removing the ACV. any input would be great.

you need to put some silicon on the gasket.

Yea, I put one on an FC about 3 years ago and did the same thing, slapped some nice RTV on that gasket, not a problem yet https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

was probably a vacuum leak

I always use RTV + the gasket, no matter what it is. I've never had any problems doing things that way.

Re: Air Control Valve

Hello did you install the gasket with the curved/ bump side up or down? Also what type of rtv is sufficent? Is anyone ok?
