Out of curiousity, I was wondering if a S5 AFM (turbo) would work on an S4 (turbo). Are they compatible at all and will there be any emissions issues. Just looking at the S5 AFM gives me the impression that it is less restrictive than the boxy S4 AFM. I am just curious. Eventually I'll end up getting a Haltech, but I was just wondering if this could be done in the time being.

you need to change the plug but the pins are the same and they work the same and stuff

Hmmm interesting, I wonder if there is any difference in air flow characteristics between the two, if not, I don't see why mazda could have stayed with the AFM that came with the S4's. I am intrigued to lean more now!!!

the s5 one is prolly gonna have smoother and better airflow when its closed, i would bet they are almost the same if they are both open

Haha! Cool I might just do a conversion then. Also I was wondering what the size comparison of the two is. I am looking at one on Ebay and I can't really get a mental picture of the size of it is. I'm planning on doing a TID mod to replace the restrictive stock system and I am wondering if it may be too big. incase anyone needs reference on what I mean by the TID mod it is at this forum
