I went to look at a 1988 TII for sale today and I wanted to ask you guys about some things my buddy and I noticed. First off, about the car; the guy replaced a bunch of stuff (can't think of it all off hand, no upgrades just things like the brake booster and stuff like that), and hasn't driven the car that much, although he has changed the oil often and drove it every once in a while.

What we noticed was that the gas pedal was a little stiff, and that there seemed to be less power than my friends TII. The car had the fuel pump replaced a couple days ago and I've heard of there being a break-in period so that could be it. And the car isn't driven that often so there might also be carbon buildup.

The compression was tested 20 or so thousand miles ago and it was fine. What do you guys think it could be? He has a rebuilt turbo he could include w/ the car, do you think thats a good sign that the turbo should be replaced?

depending on how much this guy wants for it and what kind of condition the body is in i would say he has been pretty good on the matenence of the car. those are common failures that he replaced and things should be fine. if it has some carbon buildup it can prolly be easily be fixed by some mmo soaking and some spirited driving.

compression test 20k miles ago is pretty useless

Not if he has a Delorean that travels through time. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif
