So my clutch is beat but I can warranty it. The clutch that is in there however is a no name. I was thinking about saying screw the freebie and do it right. From what I understand the ACT is the best clutch and will last longer then the piece of **** that is in there.

So the question is, who sells it for the best price?

Also anyone who has this clutch feel free to give me your opinion.

Thanks

Mike

A friend of mine had the ACT street/strip clutch, and it was pretty good.

You may want to check out www.shaneracing.com; we used the ACT in my buddy's '91 T2...the grip was good, but the engaging spot was a little high for my liking(but I'm sure it can be adjusting). I went w/ a centerforce because that is what my buddy's '94 cobra w/ 412RWHP is using and man...that thing SMACKS when you let it go https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I know I am not running high hp #'s yet, but I want something that will hold up to abuse, and the 6000 lauches occasionally. The clutch i have in it was made for grandma's. I want it to grab hard but it is my daily driver. Thanks everyone for your advice. I checked out SR and they have the clutch for like $390. I am going to see if i can get it locally cause since I work at a shop I get a nice discount. I am still shopping though........ https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

T&R uses Clutchnet exclusively, and they've had good success with them.

Yeah. The clutchnet 6 puck sprung clutches are good becausae they're easier to drive on the street. If I had a car that was only for racing I would go with a double disc clutch, or at least an unsprung clutch.

The springs help out for driving in traffic. I use my car every day with that clutch.

I drove a 6 puck w/o springs, and it wasn't bad, but I always hear people complain. The only worry I would have with it is the extra shock on the drivetrain. You know how I like to baby my transmission. :sigh:

in your vocabulary baby = break :sigh:

90N/A Rex 04-06-2002 02:07 AM

On clutchnet's website it says that the springs are there to take some of the shock off of the drivetrain. Plus I am getting a new shaft made around the same time cause its humming around 90. I don't mind getting used to things, as long as it isn't ridiculously hard to drive on the street. Looks as though I might give it a try. The 7 will soon not be my daily driver anyway.
