this guy in my town is selling a 1990 rx-7 it has 150k miles. the car starts up quicly and runs great, the body is good condition and has alot of extras. ok the problem is when i took it out for a test drive i noticed that when i hit the gas all the way down or half thorttle the car would bog down and wouldnt even speed up. I noticed that when the i cover the intake with my hand the engine would accelarate without any probs. anybody know what i could be.

You opened up the airbox? Theres only 2 thing between the cover and the TB, the Airfilter and the AFM...starting with those might be an idea...

intake leak.

i coverd the intake by the hood latch i didnt take off the filter cover because it has screws in place. the check engine light comes on when i floor it though. i think i will be buy and may be see if i can figuer it out. maybe i can get him to lower the price, i will say that engine needs some major repairs so he will lower the price. this guy knows nothing about rotory engines.
