Here are some pictures of it, it's just sitting in primer, the owner does graffiti the side of the door is the shop name Xtreme Street... Oh and the body work isn't done i usually go back over it after primer where need be... but didn't get the chance we were trying to get it done in two days...

nice....almost give the 7 a whole new look. if u look at just the front it kinda looks like the older miata. im not completely in love with the base style spoiler.

Leetheslacker 03-29-2004 05:54 PM

uhm....

different?

1gendreemer 03-29-2004 06:18 PM

I think it looks good, but it'd be better if you also rounded the lines in the back as well...and maybe some on the sides of the car too. The FC styling is all hard corners and angles with no real "roundedness" and that front looks like an addon because of it. I think a little bondo work at all the hard creases would make this look SICK. Hope I didn't step on any toes - I know a lot of hard work went into the car already!

racerxtreme7 03-29-2004 06:21 PM

ummmmmm i dont know if i feel that,,deff give probs on the work. Maybe if it had a lip or something

'79rx7 03-29-2004 06:26 PM

Yeah we have a plan for a splitter and the stock sport model aero peices just hate to bolt something stock on when something custom can be made... so that's in the works just haven't had the time

and thanks it wasn't an easy task but it came out good, if you saw it in person... It's different.... def

FikseRxSeven 03-29-2004 06:52 PM

im not saying its ugly or anything

but the boxy body style of the FC doesnt match the curvy bumper of the FD

1Revvin7 03-29-2004 06:57 PM

I wonder what a 99spec front end would look like... I know the body lines don't match but the s6 front end doesn't even look that good on the fd, let alone the fc..

ColinRX7 03-29-2004 07:37 PM

I still think this is as good as it gets while keeping with the same bodyline as the FC..

Again that color is just the primer, we're probably painting it lambo orange with gloss black rims with orange pearl in the clear on the wheels... that primer tint was the owners idea so it didn't look so much like primer... everyone in town thinks the car has been painted and it's done and we both laugh about it cause it's just a high end poly primer that's real glossy...

Thanks for the compliments on the work i did it all myself with a little help from the owner since it's my good friend. I just had the clip sitting in the shop and he wanted something custom and was like that clip would look good on my car, i was like it won't fit. He then said "you can make it fit" i was like "i guess i could" then i opened my mouth and was like i can do it in a day too... so i did but then he decided to do the rest the body work on the car and put it in primer to change the color to get the cops to leave him alone... and now here it sits not done but you get the idea... oh and i hate that probe comment might as well say a third gen looks like a probe.

and for those of you that don't visit the 1st gen forum check out my hood, i'm working on one for a 2nd gen as well.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/ind...howtopic=38467

Rob x-7 03-29-2004 07:59 PM

little curious as to what was involved in getting it to fit?

did you end up cutting and gluing it back together?

'79rx7 03-29-2004 08:41 PM

No it's just bolted into the fenders on the very top corner where new holes were drilled, then bolted in on top in two places then i had to make brackets for all the other mounting points to get it secure... the owner is a member of the forum he's just never around

Rob x-7 03-29-2004 08:49 PM

what other mounting points did you make brackets for?

it bolts to the fender and the radiator support, the bottom bolts

only hold the lip and undertray.

Did it all fit with the fc bumper support or is there none there now?

rx7_re 03-29-2004 09:08 PM

Thats some nice work, reguardlessof what it looks like. Personally i do kinda like it. Although I agree it would be better with a more curvy hood and the Fd lights. Either way props to you on the work. That hood you made for the first gen is also pretty nice.

NCTII87 03-29-2004 09:14 PM

that **** is phat. i give you guys KUDOS, haha. not the best shape but damn, thats some great work. keep up the good work.
