Please help.

I have a 91 vert Top is stuck up and will not go down i looked at the fuse's they seem ok.

AC blows but not cold. It went from cold AC to just blowing air.

It eems the fuse to the cigarette plug and clock keeps blowing, could this in any way be related?

This all harrened on my way back from Chattanooga last week.

Check for a short somewhere first.. if that does not fix it, there is a way of making the top go down manually.. Search in the second gen foru, for "convertible top" and you should find results..

i think theres a couple of little position switches for the top? i'm really not sure, does it mention anything in the manual?

Yeah those things that check trhe anle of both sides as it goes up..

There is info on that in the FSM.. Go to FC3S.org and get the FSM there.. it will help with troubleshooting your electrical stuff..

When you try the top, do you get beeping? Does the voltage guage fluctuate at all? Any response when you turn the switch?

My top decided to freeze, took both motors out, tested them with no load, opened them up and randomly played around, put them back together, remounted them, they work like champs now. I'll attibute it to my "Midas touch", rather than the fact that I actually did anythnig https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

the top always stops halfway and keeps beeping, you do have

the emergency brake set right?

I have an 89 convertible - never had a problem with the top, so I can't help you there. However, I suspect the problem may be with the motors.

Regarding the AC, I would look at two things first: 1) the CIGAR fuse may be blown - also acts as a fuse for AC - if blown, you will have air blowing, but not cold - there are a couple fuses that are tied to the AC system - check them all; or 2) if the condenser is working (i.e., one of the above fuses is not blown), then you may have a leak in your AC system somewhere that has allowed the refrigerant to escape. If the fuses are OK, but the condenser is not working, then you may need a new condenser.

if the fluid is low/leaking, the system wont come on.

I has the AC recharged and replaced the Cigar fuse. The cigarette outlet/clock worked fine for a week. Then this morning turned on the AC and the clock went out and AC is blowing hot air.

I am so confused.
