So I have the '86 n/a coupe, the one that has all the mods. The '90 vert is getting a ford 302 and auto tranny. I'm trading the guy the Ford engine for the S5 13b, but all he wants is the block, from the water pump to the clutch, everything I choose what to do with.

I was thinking of trying out the S5 intake on my S4 car. Will the S5 UIM bolt to the S4 LIM? I ask, because I already have the pineapple inserts, with my aux. ports wired open, and the aux. port actuator vacuum holes blocked on my S4 LIM. Is this even worth trying?

I also hate the fact that I've never had a good idle since I did the TB mod, so I'll be using the TB from the vert as well.

Anything else I should swap over? Are S5 alternators any better? I'll be keeping the trans and driveshaft in anticipation of mine crapping out (I'm on my second one, but no idea how many miles are on it).

I'm going to try to sell a bunch of stuff, like the a/c compressor, p/s pump, rats nest (dunno if people want that), clutch gear, OMP (surprisingly, the lines look real good, didn't break when I nudged them) etc.

yes the s5 intake goes right on the s4 lower, one stud doesnt line up, but its no biggie

the s5 alt is better, its not really a need, but if you've got one and some spare time, its almost a bolt in.

keep the alternator cuz you can swap that on the v8 using the same plug and stuff using a bracket sold on grannysspeedshop.com.. also keep your oil sensor out of the pan if u want that in the v8, and keep the water temp sender off the block of the rotary engine.. for our 302 you will have to make your own oil pressure sender using a 1/8th 45 degree bend fitting so you dont need the one off the rx-7.. idk if this helps

if you use the s5 TB you have to convert to the s5 tps too, just remember that as well.

Now the guy needs a starter, S5 AFM, and coils & ignitors. How much should I charge for this stuff? If it's around $100, I could just swap it for a carb, which I need.

j9fd3s 09-28-2006 10:28 AM

$150?

Baldy 09-28-2006 12:25 PM

seriously? well that'd be nice. Too bad some guy offered him the coil/ignitors and the afm all for $25, but he said he'd prefer to get them from me, so he doesn't actually have to pay anything (just knock off the cost of what I owe him).

teknics 09-28-2006 02:18 PM

coils are normally not too cheap, afm is sometimes hard to find ble ble bvle
