What is a good inexpensive turbo to replace the stock one. Mine is blowing oil onto the exhaust.

You could do the bnr hybrid, thats about 6 or 700$. If you want a cheap new turbo just buy a used stock one.

Maybe the original poster should only just rebuild his/her stock turbo to OEm specs. To run anything modified requires modficiation of other systems that are complimentary with the upgraded turbo. That involves knowledge as well as dollars.
If you are reading this and you are going to post, "So what else do I need to do if I upgrade my turbo?" Then you should either a.) stick to stock or b.) start reading up on everything related to turbo modifications at the single turbo forum here, or at rx7club which has many documentations for modded systems. |

I dont think he needs to upgrade his whole fuel system if he wants a different turbo. If you gotta screw with it and spend money, at least have an upgrade for your efforts. |
if you want an upgrade your best bet is to get a BNR upgrade. its going to run you about $625 to be exact you have to send out your old turbo to them they'll do all the mods to it for you. You need to give brian a call at BNR i don't have his number on hand because the rx7club.com server is being retarded and i know its on there he's in alabama though i know that. If you decide to go this route which is probably the most sensible because if you get the turbo rebult its only going to be a few hundred bucks cheap. I suggest the following if your going the BNR route.
1. make sure your engine is in good condition( rebuild blah blah, check compression) 2. if you don't have these already -Turbo back exhaust (only if you don't have emissions to pass) https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png -Intake -Walbro pump -Boost gauge, A/F gauge ect. 3. Front mount intercooler (this is optional but ALWAYS a good idea because the stock Top mount is getting heat soaked more than likely) 4. Rtek 1.7 5. Some 720cc injectors for the secondaries. 6. THEN get your turbo sent out to BNR and get the stage 1 upgrade it will be pushign around 300 whp @ 15 psi maybe even a lil below (hints why i recommend the FMIC) Also if you don't have all this cash laying around, you can do what i am currently doing ive got the Turboback on, HKS intake, Walbro Pump and the FCD. I have this set up so that way i can use alot of the parts needed for the upgrade instead of waiting to gather them all. because you can't use rtek 1.7 without 720cc's and im not sure you want to be running 720cc's without the upgraded turbo im not sure if you'll run into problems somebody correct me please. |
well it doesn't seem like you have any mods sooooo your going to have a ways to go. heres a guestimate on prices.
Exhaust (Racing Beat TurboBack): $800 Intake(HKS): $125 Walbro 255 ltr/hr fuel pump: $100 Gauges: $60-220 each (depends on what you want) Greddy FMIC 2 Row V Spec : $900 FCD: $100 ( Only if you don't get Rtek and wait it out, or else its useless) Rtek 1.7 ECU upgrade: $125 Greddy 720cc's: $220( thats for both of them) THEN the SNAIL: $625 for the upgrade. |
The Rtek is only compatible with S4 FCs. Rtek ECU Upgrade
In this case you would need either standalone engine management (Haltech, etc), or a good piggyback computer (like a S-AFC); some dyno time with an experienced tuner, and everything else tjeter mentioned. |
Oh yeah sorry i was thinking you had an S4 like i dooo hahah
