Same place I got mine.... www.shaneracing.com. It looks great, I can't wait to get it in w/ the new motor! I bought mine w/ the clutch though...the flywheel alone will run you $400 plus shipping.

I have a 1 month old stock clutch in my rx. Do i need to upgrade the clutch if i throw in that 9.5# flywheel? :frown:

Not right away, but w/ the 9.5# flywheel...you'll need to slip the clutch a little more for city driving, so a good clutch is gonna be needed eventually...thats why its best to just buy the whole package..and its cheap!

More money, thats all it ever comes down too.... There is a special on it right now though and free shipping https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Good timing. But I'm putting my rx into hibernation in 2 days...

I have heard that the 9.5# flyhweel is bad for drag racing, since in between shifts the rpms drop too much. But wouldn't this effect be countered if not overpowered by the fact that the rpms go up a lot faster? Are lightened flwheels bad for drag racing, or just the super light 9.5#? I was thinking about getting this, but all i do is street racing, in other words wtf is the point of the 9.5# if it doesn't help acceleration ??? I mean isn't it all about speed https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/devil.gif But Shane Racing claims that it does help you accelerate a lot faster. Can i get some advice with ppl who have it vs. stock ones........

The 9.5 lb. flywheel makes a big difference in acceleration over the stock flywheel in the lower gears.

What about higher gears? will it help my Q-mile then?

It helps in the higher gears a bit. If you're looking to build a car for the 1/4 mile then 9.5 lbs. may be a little too light. You may have problems launching with it. A RB light steel flywheel may be better for you if you want something lighter than stock, but still heavy enough for easy launches, etc.

So, what lbs is good for Q-miles, which one is good for 0-60? what is the 9.5# flywheels best suited for?
