James, have you ever even read into a 13bre setup, cause it doesnt sound like it.

Anywho there are a few guys who have managed to get a stock 13bre setup to run in a t2 with a stock 13bre ecu, it takes some work, probably easier then trying to get it to work on the t2 ecu or standalone, but if youre on a tight budget i can look through my **** and forward you to some more knowledgable people. Since youre just trying to get it running in stock setup for now, thered be no bad part to using the stock ecu.

As for using the FD/twin turbo trans. It's possible, only requires a fabricated trans mount, other than that it should line up fine. They do use a pull clutch I can't recall if the bre uses a pull clutch or not but either way it doesnt make a difference when swapping it into another car.

You definitely want to toss the N/A diff and driveshaft, you could get the engine running and **** before you get a new diff, just keep the clutch depressed and you can run it without a driveshaft and diff to test it.

As for gauges, personally the 7's gauges are hardly accurate/useful now that theyre like 20yrs old anyway, even the Tach has been shown to be off by a rather decent amount on the FC's when in the upper RPMs.

Right now if i was you I'd focus on getting everything bolted together and setup in the car before worrying about the small side things, that way your finances can buildup so if you do run into something you need theres been enough time to accumulate some extra cash.

right now this is whats sitting in the garage

13b-re engine complete with harness and ecu

engine mount brackets

t2 transmission

t2 driveshaft shipped and on the way

t2 rear diff with halfshafts

t2 hood

intercooler

bigger radiator

bigger fuelpump ordered and being shipped

all i need really that i can think of part wise are the following

t2 starter

engine and tranny mounts, might as well get new ones while everything is out

t2 flywheel

t2 clutch/pressure plate and bearings

stuff adds up..its not cheap and theres alot more involved than people understand and i dont even fully understand....i still have to get hoses made for the radiator and fuel along with oil cooler lines.....

id love to use the oem cosmo harness for the time being because you figure an entire harness/ecu could cost around $500 or more....when a standalone setup costs about $1000ish and i have to have someone tune it....when i dont even have the turbo on the engine that i want..im just trying to get it running as cheap as possible right now, i need transportation to get here and there since i just sold the stunt bike....

i have about $1000 left in the budget to just get it running...that includes everything i listed above and whatever else....thats all i can afford and the project will be around $4000 total i think, later down the road like a few months i can get the turbo i want and a standalone efi

Im sorry Kev, but for once you are incorrect w/ this one. I have done a bit of researh on the swap and according to a few reliable sources and write ups you cannot maintain the re's stock **** w/o massive amounts of work.

Thats just a couple I found real fast. I havent found one person using the re harness or ecu.

like the guy in the last link said....the cosmo ecu only needs to turn on the fuel pump which ill hardwire in and have a switch for..past that just have to wire in the ignition and maybe a few other things......aslong as the engine runs thats all that matters...i can wire in my own guages, tail lights, headlights, everything i may want LATER....so how is it again that the stock cosmo harness and ecu wont work? im not trying to be an ass either but i just dont get why on earth it wouldnt work.....if someone wants to send me a haltech or something id gladly take it for free..past that my budget is almost all spent up...im not looking for anything other than stock power from the engine on stock turbos....period.......rx7's fall apart if you "race" them haha dont you all know that?
