I am considering buying an 88 for $200. I am not sure what model it is but it has an auto tranny and manual mirrors. The body has very little damage, and the interior is perfect. I think the ECU might be bad because when i went to see it the ECU was out of the car. The car needs a few small things but I have a GXL with good parts, just bad body in my driveway.

1) How hard would it be to install the manual from the GXL into an automatic car.

2) would the GXL ECU be able to control the fuel and everything if the ECU that comes with the car is bad

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Josh

i say get it, sounds like a good deal, the manual conversion will take some time and money but **** who wants an auto? if the car is the same series n/a the gxl ecu will work.

how will it cost money. He has all the parts he needs. It will just take time. Won't it?

Do you know of any FAQs or anything for the manual swap?

BigTurbo74 01-18-2004 10:42 PM

there could be one on club, but this would be a perfect op. for you to do one if you had a digi camera...

It would be a smart move to replace the things that could go out because of old age like hoses and bearings and seals.
