88 Rx7 non-turbo SE, 13b rotary, runs good, but has been in storage for 2.5 years. This car is really clean except the paint. I am going through it a piece at a time and need adivce on performance modifications, what will work, or what is best, turbo? or supercharged? This car has a auto trans, that sucks, but the car was free to me so what the hell?

I havent yet found a mechanic in my area that knows about rotary engines, and I know the dealers will rape me. Have all the tools and equipment to do the work, just lack the know how. Any help would be appreciated. unfortunately you are starting out on the wrong foot.............................................. ........ if you want beat your mustang friend. get this car running sell it then look for a TII...... its the truth....

yeah, doing a non turbo to a turbo swap is one thing, and doing the auto to manual swap is easy but to do both you have to want to spend a lot of money and time on that car

you know Vosko, you're right, after reading all these threads for months now, I'm convinced a turbo swap is such a pain in the ass.

you guys don't think i went through the same thing when i had my 89 GTU.... so what did i do i went and found a 87 TII.... it was a hunk of junk so i later sold it, then i bought my FD, then found the TII.... now i only have the TII. if i find another good deal on a S5 TII.... well i will have one again lol

Ah, you started almost as I did. If u really love that car as i do mine, you can do the TII swap. It involves a lot of money/time/know-how/space/patience though. If you can find a TII you would be better off buying that though, unless you love to work on cars, as I do. If you did the T2 swap you would be swaping the whole drivetrain/motor/ecu/wiringharness/fuel system, and a lot of other misc thing.

all in all...get a turbo 89-91 and stomp that mustang for me

ahah, you can punish most v8 mustangs as an n/a, as long as they are GTs or 5.0s

I am in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and I am not sure as of yet if I want to sell it. I just got it last weekend. No pics yet, I will be sure and let you all know when it goes up for sale, I will post it here first. I will be looking for turbo very soon, but I want another one before I sell this one.

you can get an n/a to bed rustangs, but as an automatic dunno, i've got a 5 speed and I do it all the time. I would sell the thing and get a turbo II.

If you have the auto then unless you are willing to get the clutches inside redone by a company like LEVEL 10 and a good tork converter I say sell it and buy a 5sp Rx7.Autos aren't great for racing on.I hear they make alright daily drivers tho.
