What is the different in the 87 TII and the 88 n/a? Like to make it to were it cannot stand alot of horsepower? (Forgot to say, im only talking about the short block.)

ports are different, turbo is 4 port, na is 6 port. na is 9.4:1 compression, turbo is 8.5...

its not really a matter of the na being fragile, its more like the turbo stuff doesnt bolt up

What do you mean the turbo stuff will not bolt up? And if the n/a is not a little weak, then how much can it take without damage?

the intake ports dont line up between the na and the turbo.

Could the compression be checked with just the short block, trans, and starter?

yes

The N/A transmission and drivetrain are what's weak. The TIIs have a bigger input shaft and use a different clutch setup.

I have been thinking of switching my TII parts to the n/a, but I would have to find another car. Would I need any special tools to just switching over things, or air guns for alot of torque? I have alot of hand tools, and some knowledge. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png Would it be easier to switch one main part at a time, and is there any fabricating to be done? 87' and 88'. I am probably going to just take everything off the TII, and clean them up real nice, and probably change all the fluids. Also anything electrical need to be changed, besides the harness and ECU.

Also if anybody knows the colored wires to the ignition switch would help. I am thinking of putting remote keyless entry with a switch for the ignition and fuel pump.
