would like to know if there is any small differences at all between these two engines.

thanks !

1Revvin7 02-05-2003 10:27 AM

None that I know of.

joe2dmax 02-05-2003 10:33 AM

'cause a friend told me he got a 87tII engine for me for 500 (its going to my 10ae, dont know if the intercooler and the turbo is in there.

so its all good to have87tII engine and a 88t2 tranny. It wil bolt right up?

CrazyAssRX7 02-05-2003 10:36 AM

from what i know they are almost exact

and yeah the 87 tII engine will fit with the 88 tII tranny

thanks for the replies. as soon as i get my 10ae set up,ill post pics.

thanks again

the only difference is that the early 87's have low impedance injectors, a resistor, and the wiring for the resistor

thanks j9,

joe2dmax 02-05-2003 11:55 AM

anything else, btw?

j9fd3s 02-05-2003 12:57 PM

nope, other than that they are indentical. btw the ecu will run either setup, and they dont let you mix injectors/harnesses/resistors so you cant get it wrong and fry something

j9, can you please explain about low impedance? is having a low impedance injectors a disadvantage? and if it is, is there anyway i can replace my injectors with the 90-91 t2 injectors, resistors and wiring?

thanks again

1Revvin7 02-06-2003 09:26 AM

low vs high imp, they are just different types, neither is going to be better. You can replace the low imp injector with high imp by just chaning the wiring and resistor pack.

turborotor 02-06-2003 10:35 AM

A low impedence injector will react more quickly but will heat up much faster, thus heating the fuel as it goes thur.

A high impdednce injector runs cooler but will be slower reacting.

joe2dmax 02-06-2003 11:01 AM

overall, which is better then?

j9fd3s 02-06-2003 11:22 AM

they aren't better or worse just different

mike
